I took my wife's car in for what I thought was a bad front end problem and it turned out only to need air in a tire.

Astute problem solvers. Fast workers. Good physical plant with very good housekeeping.

These guys fix cars by understanding cars as a system. You get complete car care here--if it doesn't need to be fixed, it isn't, if it does, even if you might not agree, it is. (You would be wrong.) Price breaks and extras are common for regular customers. Like somebody else said, after you've been taking your car to Jim for a while, he becomes like part of your family.

Jim & Co. did $1700+ work on a '79 GMC pick up, four wheel drive with a plow, to make it 'street legal" I paid $900 for the truck and it had some serious issues with the frame, needed welding, the brakes had parts for a half dozen other trucks and had been cobbed together. This should have cost me a lot more but, Jim did his best to keep the price down giving me several items at his cost. First time I plowed snow with it, the rear brakes, which he had completly rebuilt, failed. Turned out to be the rusty old part they had hoped would hang in there, repaired at cost.

Jim is the best! I don't know much about cars but I really trust him, and have been taking my cars to him for years. He always explains what's needed and why (but he talks at such a breakneck speed I can't usually follow it the first time). If I get an estimate from the local dealer, he can almost always beat it - by getting used parts or eliminating unnecessary stuff - but I trust him when he says something really needs doing. This guy is smart - a Cornell graduate who really uses his brain every minute to solve problems and figure things out. The guys who work for him are all really nice and seem to like him and to like working there. He always has a loaner, and we can leave off or pick up cars after hours if need be. And he's given us good advice about what cars to buy and how to best keep 'em going. We think of him like a member of the family. Can't recommend him highly enough.

As someone already mentioned, Jim is a Cornell grad, and he runs a great, state of the art business. His rates are reasonable and service is excellent. He has built his business over the last 25 years strictly based on word of mouth. "Hightly recommended"

I understand that Jim has sold his business to a long time employee. I wish him the best! I had to find a garage within walking distance to my work place.
