IMPORTANT!!! This garage is CLOSED! Instead, the nice people over at Tallman's Tire & Auto Repair have taken over. The location at 4863 Commercial Dr, New Hartford, NY 13417 is empty. You have to go back up the road a bit to their current location, of 5176 Commercial Drive, Yorkville, NY 13495. Yeah, I know, it's a different village and zip code, but that's how New York is - every little burgh has its own zip. Really, Tallman's is, like, three or four blocks away from this location. But if you call the number listed above, you will be redirected to Tallman’s. I went there for a vehicle inspection and it passed no troubles. Later, I found that my muffler had two pretty big holes in it, but they passed it anyway. I guess they didn't notice. They did talk me into replacing my serpentine belt, which I would have normally done myself, but as I was planning a 12 hour drive through the remote Adirondacks State Park and across three states, I felt that discretion was the better part of valor, and paid them to do the work. The middle of the wilderness is not a place to have a belt break. They did the work while I waited, and it wasn't more than 40 minutes additional wait time. They explained the problem and the service charge was reasonable, and the final charge was the SAME AS THE ESTIMATE! No hidden charges! They even gave me the old belt so I could verify that it really did need to be replaced. (I admit, it was pretty cracked - probably OEM.) I will add Tallman's to the Mechanic's File list where you can also read this review.
