This is a one man shop..run and owned by Tex Utter. He was recommended by a co-worker..also a female..who said he was honest and excellent. I strongly agree. I work at Cornell, and he is located in Fall Creek, which is located at the bottom of the hill from the university..just a long walk or quick bus ride to work.

Tex was recommended to me by a friend who has lived in Ithaca for many years. He is the best mechanic I have encountered, period. He is honest and upfront. He doesn't recommend repairs that are not necessary and the repairs that he does do are impeccable. I would never go anywhere else, if I could avoid it. The only down side is that he is only open in the mornings, so you need to work with his schedule.

Tex was great. I'm a woman, and I was certainly treated fairly. I also drive a not-so-great old Nissan Sentra, and he treated it well, too, and saved me a carload of cash when he fixed it last time, $600 less than the lowest other estimate, which I got at the out-of-town place where it broke down. In all my dealings with him, Tex was honest, forthright, and knew his stuff.
