Andy has taken care of us for at least 10 years, helping with whatever beater I was desperately trying to keep on the road. Andy always told us what needed repair to get an OK before going ahead, and always told me to fix what I could myself, even though he found the problem (for instance replacing the dried brake lines on the front of a '72 Olds Cutlass convertible). If it was beyond his help, he said so. Typical for Andy: inspecting an old Honda that wouldn't pass the emissions test, he never charged for the time he spent fiddling with the engine (I was never charged for a diagnosis, though he always took the time to find a fix). We were never shocked by the bill. Just as important, everything was fixed correctly the first time. If Mom took in a car for repair, he always offered a ride both ways, a nice feature for someone living in the 'burbs with lousy public transport, but too stubborn to ask a neighbor for the ride. Sadly, we no longer live near his shop, but wish we knew another mechanic like him.

Andy was reccommended to me 3- 1/2 to 4 years ago. I have found him to be honest, reasonable ,competent and respectful. Althought I moved 1-1/2 years ago, I still travel to Norbell for service. As a female, over the years it has not been easy for find a mechanic who is honest, reasonable, respectful and not condescending. To be able to trust your car mechanic is a rare and valuable thing.

Andy is one of the most honest and friendly mechanics I have ever known. He goes out of his way to provide service and will always call before making a repair that was unplanned. He does quality work and in the 2o plus years I have been having him service my cars, I have never had a single complaint. His pricing is fair and his workmanship and skill is always excellent.
