Joe and Louis LaVigna are Westchester's answer to Tom and Ray!
Not only do you get fantastically reliable work and the utmost
honesty (even when an honest answer costs them business), you
can be entertained each time you enter the shop by the fiery
exchanges between these two brothers! My husband and I
became loyal LaVigna converts after they searched for hours for a
mystery rattle in our 92 Ford Tempo, found the problem which
turned out to be extremely expensive to fix and therefore not worth
it, and said they couldn't possibly charge us for the delivery of bad
news. Their labour rates are average to above average, but they
are never overestimated. We are both poor full-time students, but
we trust them so implicitly that we know it's worth it to go see the
Bros instead of somewhere slighty cheaper. They are a very busy
shop, full of new BMWs and Mercs but whenever we need
something done, they always make us feel like our crappy 92
Honda is the most important job they have going. We would like to
give them the highest possible recommendation - they're the best!

A few days ago I was looking for a mechanic in an area
near to a car I was considering buying. I had hoped to
have the mechanic do an inspection after I looked at the
car. When I was calling around asking the price for such
an inspection, the Lavigns Brothers told me that they
normally do such an inspection for free. Sadly, they were
booked for a week straight and could not do the
inspection. In spite of this, I was truly impressed with
them, even just over the phone. After telling me that
they normally don't charge to inspect but that they were
booked solid, they proceeded to ask me about the car I was
looking at. The person I spoke with spent a good 5-10
minutes on the phone with mee, just giving me advice and
telling me about things to watch out for on the model I
was looking at. I was touched by their concern and
eagerness to help me, especially since they weren't making
any money off it. Bottom line: I'd happily take my car
there for service!

I have had all of our cars (BMW, Toyota, Pontiac) serviced
by La Vigna once they are out of the warranty/free service
period. They are great. Excellent work, reasonably priced,
fair, honest, caring. Highest recommendation on all counts.
