He works alone and so is busy, but took the time to explain how the car worked/problem arose on his own long distance dime when I was in Seattle and the car was with my son in NY. In fact, he even called me back after he verified a repair part price, rather than just give an estimate. Very nice to work with Rusty.

If there was a book: Zen and the Art of Volvo Maintenance, Rusty would have written it! This guy lives Volvos! Ask a get a comprehensive answer. He's never too busy to talk with his customers...either in person or on the phone. You get honest service at honest prices. Some customers even give Rusty a spare key to their car to keep in his shop. I've been a happy customer for years.

As a female owner of an older (1996) 850 with more than 100,000 miles, I can tell you that its great to find a mechanic who is not only honest and competent, but who is not ever patronizing or dismissive. Rusty has always been extremely helpful, and has always taken the time to explain the problem, as well as its solution, in as much detail as I want.

Rusty always takes the time to patiently explain what is going on with the car. He also went out of his way to test and verify the problem and solution prior to making--and billing me for--a repair.

Rusty has been fixing my family's fleet of volvos since I was riding in a child's safety seat. When I call frantic on a cell phone about a strange noise while away at college, he often can make the diagnosis by having me hold the phone up to the engine. You won't find anyone better.

Rusty is THE guy to go to for repairs on older Volvos (i.e., 240s, 700s, 900s and 850s). He only works on Volvos and really knows his stuff. He has fixed several problems on my 940 Turbo that no one else could figure out. I highly recommend Rusty for all things Volvo.

If you own a Volvo and live on Long Island there is only one place to go for repair work: Rusty's. I have been a customer of Rusty's for over 10 years (with 2 Volvos, a 1985 240 and a 92 940). He is honest, competent and a really good guy too. Frankly it has not been easy for me to get to Rusty - I live in Melville and his shop is in Glen Cove. But there is no one else that I feel comfortable with when it comes to my car. In fact, my wife's cousin used to travel (till he sold his Volvo) all the way from Brooklyn to bring his car to Rusty because there is, frankly, no one else who comes close on the things that matter: honesty, competency and a pleasure to know.

A great resource if have a Volvo that you'd like to keep forever. Rusty explains needed repairs and costs thoroughly. The quality of the wok is first rate and prices are fair. Rusty is also a good source of second hand parts for older Volvos.
