Have known Wise Brakes since the early 80s when I worked in the South Bronx. Same ownership during that time. Two sons of Frank Koller, the other partner, also there since the 80s. They do everything except going into the engine and other complexities such as DOHC timing belts where they advise consulting new car dealerships or other specialists. Recently I had a minor transmission gasket leak. The Mazda dealer in White Plains wanted to replace the assembly at approx $160., plus another $375 for a head gasket leak. He particularly urged doing the latter, since "that's how engine fires start." Common sense from long experience with new car dealers kicked in, and I said, "no thanks". I drove down to Wise Brakes. They tightened the transmission gasket and found no sign of a head gasket leak. Total cost $10.
