I bought my first BMW when I was in college. I went looking in the Westchester Cty, NY area for a good mechanic. He worked on some minor repairs for me during this period. It was not until after I had graduated and moved to Fairfield Cty, CT that I appreciated his competance and honesty as I was having difficulty finding an 'independent mechanic' to look after my now two bmw's and wife's VW. I found one which is certified in both VW's and BMW's, but I use him only for emergencies. A nagging problem with my wife's VW proved their worth over their competitors. It was an intermittent fuel delivery problem with some electrical thrown in to mask the real problem. I brought it to the independent first, he looked at it twice, changing both fuel pumps and a relay. Then I brought it to the dealer who also replaced some parts and couldn't resolve the problem. I called Graham and asked if he would work on it; he said yes, he was now working on many different makes. We setup a weekend when I could leave it with him. The car was fixed when I picked it up on Monday. He said it had taken about six hours of diagnosis time before the problem occured and then it was fixed with a $45 part. He reduced the time. Other times when I've had his shop prep and certify my bmw for driving schools he has gone over the whole car and charged accordingly but safety on the track is well worth it. Finally, against his protests, I find his expertise so helpful that I pay him $1/min for telephone support when I call with an unusual question or seeking recommendations. I don't hesitate to recommend Graham and the other mechanics at Bimmers's Only to everyone who is in need of a fair and competent person to look at their auto.

Their shop is conveniently located one block from the Metro North Railway Station in Bedford Hills. My experience with Graham dates back to when I was attending college and bought my first BMW; a 2002 in need of much repair. I loved the car for what it was and began looking for a mechanic to give it the once over. The name drew me to them 'Bimmers Only' and I drove it to him to check out. He looked it over, tuned it up, tightened the steering box, and suggested a new center-link; the car drove great after that. Any major repair work was done by Graham as well as the tune-up and mechanic certification which was required before a driving school. Nearly ten years after college I was living in CT and having a difficult time getting a fuel problem solved in my VW Golf. I had brought it to the local VW dealer who tried twice to fix the problem and failed; and also to a local VW specialist who could not fix the problem. The conscensus diagnosis was it needed a new fuel distributor; about $800 and change for installation. I took the car to Graham and stayed with some college friends for the weekend, Monday morning, he asked if he couldn't keep it for the day, for some more road testing. Graham called me around noon to say the car was ready. A $25 diaphram which is electrically operated was failing intermittenly when it got warm; only by dedicating many hours to testing it did he diagnose it and repair the problem correctly. Now the the moment comes for the bill, I'm expecting to be hit with labor charges for six hours of testing and garage work; not so. He charged a very fair two hours plus parts. Another time, I brough my 2002 to him before a particularily important driving event and asked him to check the car over for safety and tune it up. He charged me for the full six hours; but the car ran great for a year afterward. These days when I'm in a bind I call him and record the total time of our phone conversation because I feel his expertise is worth paying him for phone support. He is a real BMW enthusiast who values the customers satisfaction.

These guys were good and knew what was wrong on my old 1985,735i. I have seen lots of BMW in their shop and my experience with them was very pleasent.
