John knows many mechanics in the area and will readily recommend one or two he considers the best and most reasonable for specialty repairs he doesn't do. He's willing to help us save some $$ by having us search junk yards, etc. for the parts we need and bring them to him. Just found out he likes "Car Talk" and listens to the Blues on WBFO.

They were recommended by one person in the office. Now every one knows their phone number. Seriously several people in the office are happy customers.

A coworker recommended this shop after I had a few bad experiences at other
places in the area. They did a few repairs for me for a reasonable price. The last
time i was there they diagnosed my problem and before they started working on
it, I decided to trade my 10 year old car on a new one. I went to pick my car up
and was more than happy to pay for the diagnosis but there was no charge.
They even offered to take a look at a used car for me for no charge. A+ service
in my book.
I've noticed that a lot of the clients of Thuman's seem to be local business
owners, contractors, etc. This seems like a good sign to me.

My car is a 1995 Mercury Sable LTS and John saved me
approximately $ 200.00 over what was quoted by the Lincoln
Mercury Dealer. I went to the Lincoln Mercury Dealer for a
oil change since the selling dealer, their competitor,
ceased operations due to factory consolidations. When the
oil change seemed to take forever, I walked around and
found my car off to the side near a lift. I thought they
had not started work or there was a problem. When
confronting the service desk they were in the process of
writing an estimate and told me the car would not pass
inspection unless the work was done.
John Thuman did the work and inspected the car. The Dealer
was correct about the work, however, the price was out of
line. I did not like the approach the Dealer used
especially since I was a new customer.
Sincerely.

We've been taking our cars to John's shop for 20 years. He
& his crew are honest, smart, and charge so little that my
husband & I sometimes wonder how he stays in business. The
bonus about John? He doesn't mind talking to women! He
explains stuff in as much detail as you want (sometimes
more, which is the sign of a guy who loves what he does),
doesn't patronize & doesn't condescend. There's not a woman
reading this who doesn't know just how unusual that is.
Thanks, John, for keeping our cars running & treating us all
(male, female, young, old) like we're not morons (even when
we've done something really stupid)!
