Living in Santa Fe for over 30 years I found Williams Automotive when I was still a High School kid wanting to have my engine rebuilt on a 1970 Opel GT which I had purchased from a family member for only $200. It was my dream car...it was Royal Blue and looked like a mini Corvette. Well, it had a 1.9 litre 4 cylinder engine and when I was looking for a mechanic...no one would even touch it because they knew that parts were hard if not impossible to find. Williams Automotive managed to find 3 pistons in Houston and one in Chicago...rebuilt the engine and it ran for another 80,000 miles!! No worries..they took the time to get to know the car and from that day forward I was hooked. The engine rebuild which I was quoted upwards of $2,000 for because of the difficulty of finding parts...cost me about half that. Considering they had to lift the car all the way up and drop the engine from the bottom after dropping the entire front end just to get to it...(this IS the procedure outlined in most car repair guides for this vehicle) I was VERY satisfied with the quality of work and the fair pricing. I have never taken any of my other cars anywhere else...when you find an honest mechanic (or a good barber) you don't tempt fate :-)
