A friend of a friend recommended this shop to me shortly after I moved to Santa Fe. Donald, the owner and chief mechanic, was described to me as being kind of like the mechanic on "Seinfeld"--a guy who will love your car more than you do and maybe take it away from you if you aren't treating it right. Donald is super-consciencious, carefully explains everything, and is willing to take reasonable shortcuts or hold off on something if you're not yet ready to spend money on an optional repair and/or maintenance job. He's very serious: more like a doctor than a grease monkey. And he ALWAYS calls you a week or so after the work's been done to make sure everything's okay.
