First, this is a full service shop, not just muffler and brakes. The shop owner, Dana Thurman, is a straight shooter who just does not lie to his customers, and if he can find a way to fix your car inexpensively he will do so. He has so many regular customers he doesn't need to, and has so many customers because he doesn't do that. I say this as someone who has hung around the shop watching him deal with people as far back as 2003. From 2001-2003 I was just another customer, and what I liked about Dana was that I never once questioned what he told me. A few times he made a small adjustment and charged me $30 or something ridiculous. Once he fixed the rotating headlights on my Pontiac in two minutes with a screw driver and charged me nothing. I won't try to conceal my bias, but it's one based on almost a decade of being a customer and then seeing the way things work at Alert Muffler & Brakes "behind the scenes". Too bad I don't live in Las Cruces anymore, because when I did car repairs were the least of my worries.
