We originally came to know this repair shop & its wonderful owner Frank, when we purchased a Toyota Celica from a friend. She had been bringing the car to him for a long time while she had it and suggested that we continue bringing it to him when we took ownership. You will never find anyone as honest and trustworthy as Frank Vitale! He explains everything to you and doesn't make you feel like an idiot for not knowing what he's talking about. Unfortunately, we have relocated to Florida(really that's not the unfortuate part) and we miss knowing that we have Frank to call on when our car needs repair. Go to Checkers! You won't be sorry!

I recently had to drive a 94' Honda (inherited from family) from New Jersey to California and needed to get the car checked to make sure it would make the trip . I looked under the website for reputible mechanics in Lyndhurst and found Frank Vitale at Checkers. They were great. Frank Vitale the owner was the best mechanic. I wish he was in CA. And his staff was excellent too with a clean garage. They gave me a ride back to my mom's house, called me to tell me what the car needed, fixed the car that day, showed me the old parts, explained everything clearly and all with a good laugh at the right price. And they offered me some "cauffee" (not coffee). Being of Italian orgin as me, Frank not only looked like me, he spoke like me and was down to earth, concise and detail oriented. The whole experience was so pleasant, and so rare to find such good folks who do good work these days. The car made it to CA swimmingly. Thanks to Frank, his staff and of course Tom & Ray. dc
