Van Derveer is an independent garage(getting rarer each day) and has been in business since 1928. The work performed is top quality. The prices are much less than dealer or chain store rates. And on the rare occasion that I was less than satisfied, Joe or Bob "made it right". Whether the customer is male, female, senior or whatever, Joe and Bob take the time to ask questions and explain all options. They contact you by phone to confirm any deviations in what was planned. The vehicle is "always" ready when promised. These guys are the last of a breed that offer old fashioned reliable service and back up their work.

We've had very good experiences at Van Derveer's with both our cars: a Honda Civic and a Toyota Tacoma. Everyone there is very pleasant to deal with, and they are very accommodating about scheduling service, even in emergencies. They provide great personalized service!

I had a small accident: hydroplaned and hit the curbs on an exit a few times. The Toyota dealer told me I had bent struts and damaged rear sway bar bushing assembly. With a $1,600 plus estimate, I decided to go to Van Derveer, since when I called them, they quoted me a $550 price for the same job. They called me at work and told me that the struts were not bent, and there was no damage to the rear sway bar bushing assembly. They could have very easily done the work and charged me the $550, because I came in thinking that was what was needed. In addition, the Toyota dealer had said they couldn't secure the front bumper for me, that it was going to fall off and I'd run over it. I asked Van Derveer's to take a look at it and they said it was broken, but they bolted it down with some new screws, and it would not fall off. They charged me $44.50 for this. Toyota had said I would need to get extensive bodywork done to the tune of $2,250. It's still not pretty, but it's safe, and the bumper isn't going to fall off! Van Derveer's has a customer for life! How refreshing to come across an honest auto mechanic!
