Joe turned down the chnace to work on something that could have made him a nice profit - replacing the tie rod ends on my Charger. they were shot - but he pointed out the mileage and said I should go to the dealer since it should be covered under the warranty, and therefore fixed for free. Although there was some question whether it was the lateral links or not, if this was "Stump the Chumps", he would be a winner, because he was right about the warranty andf I didn't spend a dime to have it fixed! He is honest to a fault, and that makes him a winner in my book. He will have my business for life, because he has my trust. He also did a fast and very reasonably priced oil change... another thing many others have ripped me off on because I use synthetic. Highly recommended because of his experienced years and his integrity.

I've been going to Joe's Auto for over 10 years now. His specialty is definitely Jeeps but, I've never had one and he's been great with my three different Japanese cars. I found Joe when I thought I had a problem with my thermostat. Since he was just a few hundred yards from my office, I left my car with him for the afternoon. Upon returning, he showed me the loose wire on the temperature sensor that he discovered and just $5 later I was on my way. Plenty of mechanics would happily have charged me to change my thermostat. Unfortunately, not every repair has been that cheap but, Joe has seen me and my cars through about 400K miles so far - 215K on my current car. Joe is located at Pio Costa (across from the self serve bays of the car wash) 1275 Bloomfield Ave Fairfield, NJ 07004 and his number is 973-227-4033. (Accurate as of 11/2006).

I have been bringing my vehicles to Joe's for almost 14 years and have never left his garage feelng like I didn't get a fair deal. If you don't trust mechanics- this is the place to go.
