Have used Swedish Connection for about 17 years with my SAABs. Very knowledgable about SAABs (and probably Volvos). Responsive, aim for preventative maintenance and courteous. I give them the highest grade. I've no real basis for comparing their cost but based on everything else I believe they are at worst competitive with SAAB dealers. They specialize in servicing SAABs and Volvos. In perhaps a hundred visits to them I've never noticed them working on anything but the Swedish cars. Owners name is Joe (something Italian)!

Been using them for about 6-7 years. Joe(owner) and Rich are great mechanics. They moved to a bigger brand new shop last year. There work is top notch and they only use Saab parts. They also now have a great pre-owned car lot at the facility with great prices on genrally off-lease low mileage Saab's and some Volvos. I bought a 97 Saab Turbo coupe from them two years ago and I love it. Highly recommend.

This Saab specialist shop is great! They easily diagnosed and fixed a problem that neither the Saab dealer (Zumbach in Manhattan) nor another "specialist," could fix. All in a few hours! The other specialist told me what was not the problem, but when he couldn't diagnose what was the problem, suggested we replace the transmission. Ron identified the problem as a missing centering screw on either the brake pad or caliper- I can't remember which. I cost me a bout $160.oo including labor and everyhting. The other supposed Saab specialist, not very far away thought we might have to replace the transmission. That would have cost me $2,500 or more- and wouldn't have solved the problem. Ron is the quite one, and Joe is the chatty one. When I arrived their pre-teenage kids were having barbeque- early June, almost the end of school year- the absolute bestest time to be a kid, in front of the garage. They offered me a hot dog right off the grill! I should have taken it. Great repair shop, great people!

I have known Joe for over 40 years, and he has taken care of my primary means of transportation for a long time. My cars have never broke down, not even one time. I remember back in February of 2004, I decided to visit my mother in Florida and, at that time, I had a 1996 Volvo 850 Turbo. I was at his shop on a Friday at 5:00PM and out by 5:45PM with a major tune up 100% complete. Drove about 40 miles to my home, packed up the car, had dinner and my wife, and I drove to West Palm Beach, Florida. Twenty two hours later I was at my mother's home, and the car performed as if had only 100 miles on it, not 120,000. The Swedish Connection has what it takes to get the job done right the first time. When I am driving and need to slam on the brakes or steer away from a careless driver, I never have to worry about my car not responding. If you drop your car off in the morning to have something done, you can pick it up after work, and if you want, he will have it detailed for you as well. The website is something else, and I have my eye on another convertible. Looks like I will have to pay him a visit on a purchase, not maintenance/repair.

I have owned Saabs since 1984. Joe has worked on my cars since 1986. He kept my first 1985 900s running well beyond what I would have ever tried to do with a dealer. I subsequently purchased 2 used Saabs from Swedish Connection and have always found them to be straightforward and very reasonable to deal with. My last 9-5 having over 231K miles on it. I have always been satisfied with the direct response to questions and abilty to squeeze me in to their schedules whenever needed. If you want a qualified shop willing work with you and is direct then I can't recommend Joe, Ron and Swedish Connection highly enough.
