George has worked on my families cars for years and always
does a good job. He is very patient with my elderly mother
when she has questions.

I have always been impressed with George's attitude - he explains everything clearly, and does not "talk down" to women. He is not out to gouge the customer, and makes suggestions, where appropriate, for ways to economize, explaining the pros and cons of more or less expensive approaches to jobs to be done. It's good to have someone I can trust with my vehicle. His employees are also pleasant, competent people.

I am a single woman and know nothing about cars. They have always been courteous and patient with me, and I feel, have given me special attention as a woman with no knowledge of cars. The prices have been very reasonable and the work very good, they have very experienced mechanics with a good honest reputation.I highly recommend them especially for women.

George York and his staff have many years of experience of working on many models of cars. George, despite his many customers, knows each of them and their cars by memory. He explains up front what service may be involved and is quick to provide alternatives. His unofficial motto, "I just don't want you broken down along some road."

When they gave me the gigantic tome listing all of the
things wrong with my truck when I brought it in for repair,
I thought I would try to tackle some of them myself. Two of
the endless items on the list were my rear break drums.
Besides a little rust, I didn't see anything wrong with
them. They seemed to work fine for me still.
I took my truck back in and asked them what was wrong with
it. They took the time to answer my annoying questions, put
my truck on the lift, take off my tire and drum, measure the
drum with the caliper, and show me the largest inner
diameter that was allowed by law and then how much larger
the inner diameter of mine was.
I realize that doing all this for a pain-in-the-butt
customer cost him some of his valuable time and patience,
but I will be forever grateful and their getting a great
review out of it. George York and his staff are all honest
and excellent mechanics and run one heck of a shop!

George and crew have taken care of my car (or rather,
beater) for about 6 years. In addition to being personable
and friendly (the service manager knows me by name), they've
always been reliable, fair, and clear about what's going on
with my car and what they're doing to it. They've never
tried to upsell me or (as far as I can tell) pushed
unnecessary repairs.

On several occasions the garage not only provided us with the
best service and price, but also went out of their way to
offer several options for fixing problems based on how much we
were able to spend. Their rates were fair and their work
excellent. A shop that is an excellent example of what a
mechanic's shop should be: honest and hardworking.

Spouse has had our SUV worked on regularly at this shop.
This past Thursday the plug wire/leads and spark plugs were
changed. First estimate was $310, final bill was $400, 35%
increase. Wasn't done on time, radio and clock didn't work,
had to be programed. Drove it home and I checked under the
hood, found a wire to the a/c loose. On Saturday, spouse took
vehicle for a 5 hour trip, quit after 2.5 hours, and had to
be towed home 100 miles. What a way to start a vacation.
