Check out "OK Tire and Auto Service" of Candler NC, owned and managed by Kevin Klopp who is outstanding; honest, helpful, etc! Great service, great mechanics, even willing to tackle challenges like tranfering my sons' wheelchair lift from our old van to the new one. I highly recommend OK Tire and Auto!

My engine developed a skip while I was driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway south of Asheville, NC. I got off the Parkway and ask for a recommendation of a mechanic at a parts store. They sent me to Kevin Klopp at OK Tire and Auto Service, who took the time to drive the car and then try to diagnose the problem in his shop. He checked the transmission and th electrical and fuel systems. He found a slight coolant leak which was apparently causing the engine to miss sporadically, topped off the coolant, and reasssured me that I could finish my trip (about 350 more miles) without damage to the engine if I checked the coolant level periodically. He declined payment, despite my insistence. I made it home with no further trouble, and his diagnosis was confirmed.

On LAST visit, had 2 new tires mounted on rear. Arrived home later and noticed 1 rear hubcap was missing. Called next day. Was told they didn't have it. Manager asked mechanic who said, "hubcap had bad mounting clips but seemed secure to him." Sounds like a lotta hooey to me! Have had same hubcaps 11 years. Anyways, they ain't gonna do nuthin for me. Said I "mighta hit a pothole (in June, in NC), or anything. Seems like they could've told me about bad clips and that my hubcap could fall off, eh? Creeps!
