Rocky and Rickey were recommended by co-workers when my car needed repairs. They also do all the work on our company vehicles. These guys are honest and hard working and if you don't need something, they will tell you just that. At Christmas long time customers drop off cookies, cakes, pies. That says a lot about their good reputation.

Hooray for Rocky and Ricky! I've been taking my 1991 Mazda 626 (Bob) there for the 3 1/2 years I've owned it. They do good work, they're usually done in one day, and they treat me with respect - can't comment on how they treat they're male customers, but I'm betting it's the same. Rocky will always tell me what's going on and let me know my choices on repairs without pushing me to do unneeded work. There was one time a part installed wasn't quite right & they fixed it very fast with no additional charge. Most recently some mysterious stalling could have netted them payment for several hours labor, but instead they charged me nothing and Rocky affirmed my decision to put Mazda Bob out to pasture. They'll be doing work on my next vehicle.

I would say they are the best in Raleigh. A coworker recommended the shop back in the 1980s when Robert Taylor owned it and Rocky was a lead mechanic. Rocky has long since bought the station and kept the name -- and I am still a customer. They have held to estimates even when the labor was much more intensive. I agree with other customers that they will tell you when there is a simple fix rather than a new part.

As others have said, they are very honest and will not do repairs that are not needed. One time they literally tightened a screw for me (the handbrake wasn't working on my old Volvo), and wouldn't take any money, even though I'm sure many other shops would have done so. I have trusted them and recommended them ever since! Also, they're very convenient, as they are right on Hillsborough St.
