These two guys run an independent shop, founded on the premise that it is more important to do the job correctly than to make a lot of money. They are both factory trained "SAAB MASTER TECHNICIANS", as well as skilled in the other listed makes.

Tom takes the time to do the job correctly and after it is done, he takes the time to explain it. In the 15 years I have gone to him, he has always been able to fix a problem the first time. He is an excellent diagnostician. After all is said and done, he washes and cleans the care out before he returns it to you. To give you an idea of my faith in Tom, all my car purchases are based on whether Tom will work on it or not.

If Tom Townsend told me to jump off a roof, I would do it without hesitation. That is how much I trust his honesty, integrity, and judgement. He is my car's physician, and he has a great bedside manner, great hands, great intuition, and complete commitment to his craft. Tom is a "master". He takes the time to explain everything in detail to you, and his organizational abilities are extremely impressive. He has authored, and uses, a shop management software system that tracks your vehicle's history (and that of other cars of the same model), and allows a true preventive approach to your car's maintenance. In his spare time (I don't know where he finds the time to do this) he has developed a Saab web site that is a marvel and a great help to anyone with a Saab. One year I was at the beach when my car broke down near Jacksonville, NC. Needless to say it's hard to find someone who knows something about Saab's in Jacksonville, NC. I found someone who told me he did, but was really uncomfortable about his knowledge and competence. I visited Tom's Saab site on the internet and was able to research my problem, find out what parts were needed, and get a history of similar repair costs. It was extremely helpful to have that information in dealing with the repair shop.

Tom treated me with respect and courtesy, even as a female college student who doesn't know very much about cars; he takes the time to explain to me what he has done on my car and why. He is very honest and aware of my typical "college" finances (ie broke!) and talks with me about what needs to be done and what can wait due to my money situation. I would recommend Tom in a heartbeat to any Saab owner!
