They have taken care of 2 Honda Preludes (one 250K miles, the other 180K miles) and 1 Dodge Grand Caravan (140K miles) for over 6 years. Whenever a major repair is needed they do their best to diagnose the problem so as not to replace parts that are good. They also advise if there could be more that 1 cause of a problem. They first try the least expensive, likely cause first. or consult the customer on what they want to do with advice on the cost and probability of each potential fix. My favorite story: I had the Dodge van at the dealer for a recall. They did a courtesy "check" of the vehicle and said the transmission was close to wearing out and a replacement would be $2000. I had noticed it was beginning to be sloppier than usual on shifts. I took it to CCC to have them look at it. They said a solonoid was going bad, it could be cleaned or replaced. I opted to clean it for about $100. That lasted a few months and it started getting sloppy again. I took it back and had them replace the solonoid for about $250. That was over 50,000 miles ago. They saved me over $1500. Overall I am very pleased. They usually get the problem fixed right the first time, and if not, they get right back on it. The few times they made a mistake (minor ones) they admitted the error and gladly fixed at no chanrge.

I heard about CCC fom this Mechanics Files section of car talk. From the first phone call, I was impressed with the time the owner took to explain the potential causes for my problem with the transmission on my 2002 Ford Explorer. Todd Parks (the owner) even recommended I go to Duro Trans (a local transmission shop) who could better serve me since the transmission did have to be replaced. Since then, I've been a customer. I had an inspection done, and they fixed a problem with the rear left wheel bearing on the Explorer that I couldn't figure out after replacing it myself. He only charged me $20 to tighten the axle nut back to the proper the torque specs which fixed the problem. The last job was a clutch replacement on my son's 1988 Honda Civic wagon. We rode together up there, and Todd gave us a ride home so that they could get right on it. They got the job done in less than 36 hours for him to have it for the weekend. The price was fair, the work thorough and super fast. They are great to work with and I fully recommend them to friends and family.

I had a situation with my 2001 Toyota Corolla that was caused by an incompetent mechanic at another repair location owned by a Fortune 500 company which shall remain nameless. One of the mechanics at Carolina Car Care was able to take care of the problem for a charge of only $75. That was my first experience that convinced me to keep coming back to Carolina Car Care.
