I took my 2004 Volvo V70 to Midtown to fix a number of
problems I was having including stalling, a slipping
transmission, and check engine light as well as getting the
timing belt and control arm bushings replaced and was very
satisfied with the work they did. They were courteous and
made me feel at ease, explained everything, took the time to
test drive and gave me a rundown of possible problems and
what they would cost as well as gave me a written quote.
They called before going ahead with what they found to be
the problem to get my approval and the cost came out to be
less than what they originally quoted me. Two weeks later
and a 10 hour round trip to Hilton Head later, the car is
working great. I have no problem recommending them. Another
mechanic in Denver, NC, which is closer to home even
suggested them for the timing belt as they specialize in
Volvos when I went to him to get tires.

This a small and personal repair shop. You get the feeling that the mechs are doctors for your car. They consult, they recommend, they tell you when a repair/replacement is not needed ( even if you thought it was ) and their repairs last.
I have a now-18 year old Volvo 240 which has been well-cared for, and received several small and large repair jobs at Midtown over the past 15 years.
Midtown Imports is a clean and tidy shop with a comfy waiting room and they are very helpful on the phone.
Highly recommended !
