My wife and I were pointed toward Mark's shop by another
mechanic in Mint Hill who did not work on Volkswagens, so
we took her '94 Jetta to him and were very happy with the
work he did, the price he charged, and his friendly
demeanor. Over the next few years, we took her next Jetta
('05) to Mark and continued to be very happy with the
service.
Recently, the mechanic I'd been taking my '90 F150 to
closed and I thought I'd try Mark to fix a coolant leak. He
took it that day, and I got the vehicle back later that
afternoon, but I found that there was still a coolant leak
the next morning. When I called Mark, he said to bring it
over and he'd get it right. This time he gave me a ride
back to our house 5 miles away and then delivered the
vehicle to house later in the afternoon. He said he hadn't
seated one of the hose clamps properly the first time, but
it was right now. Also, he replaced the radiator cap and
pressure washed the engine as compensation for not getting
the problem fixed on the first attempt.
I didn't really mind the mistake (I've made a few myself),
but his making a real effort to correct the problem and
ackowledge our inconvenience was impressive. If you're in
the Midland/Mint Hill/Hwy 51 & Albemarle Rd area and
looking for an effective, honest mechanic, Mark is a good
person to call. (He specializes in BMW but works on
everything.)
