Patrick and Michael are great people. They always take time to explain the problem with the car and look for the most economical way to fix the problem. They have worked on our car for over 4 years as needed and we have had nothing but positive experiences. You never feel like you are getting the run around--they really seem to value their customers and look to establish long-term relationships.

11/01/00 Took my wife's 87 Volvo in for Control arm bushings. And a new environmental control A/C, heater control unit thing, which is $500 for a new part installed by a dealer. These guys got me a used part for $140 and installed it for $80. And they did a great job with the bushings as well. No complaints here. I highly recommend them. I am planning to take my Isuzu to them for a new timing belt. Regards, MCP

MPG Imports is a Volvo owner's dream come true. I've never dealt with more honest, competent, and trustworthy mechanics. The automatic transmissiion in my 1993 Volvo with 195,000 miles developed shift problems - Shifting late and staying in low gears. The problem got worse, the engine RPM's would go high and the transmission would slip almost like the car was in neutral. I was worried that I might have a $3000 transmission repair on my hands. It turned out to be a defective kick down cable that was causing the problem. My time trusted Volvo dealer wanted $598 to change the kick down cable and flush transmission fluid. I declined the dealership's kind offer and found MPG on the Car Talk site. Michael did the job right and saved me $380. The car runs like new again. From then forward, I decided that both of my Volvo's would be in the trusted care of MPG.

Michael is the Best! He is great a finding rebuilt or used parts that cost a LOT less htat the "offical" parts from Volvo. He will keep my 240 going until I die.

They've done an excellent job of keeping my 240 going (she's at 210,000 miles) Michael always explains the problem so you understand and makes every effort to make the job affordable. Their work is tops as I have never had any problems with anything they've done. Kind people too!

I am not actually a customer of this shop, but can vouch for the honesty of the owner. I called asking about a problem with my Nissan Sentra. Instead of looking at my car and attempting to fix it, the owner advised me to take the car to a dealership as it's a known problem with Nissans. A mechanic passing up possible business because it's in the best interest of the customer?! He will get the work on my next car.

I have a '92 Volvo 240 with 320,000 miles on it. The MPG brothers have done very well maintaining this Volvo and a prior Volvo. They do an excellent job diagnosing, explaining the problem, and completing quality work in a timely manner. They also work to ensure the job is done affordably. I'd highly recommend them and hope to get at least another 100,000 on my 240!
