The head mechanic at Black Forest Industries is more than a mechanic. He is a car therapist. He has maintained my 2004 Audi for the past 3 years and has put all of my worries and fears at ease. He is honest, he is brilliant and I feel like he truly cares about my car and my experience with the car. Plenty of times, he could have chosen a more costly repair and charged me more money, but instead he took the pragmatic, cost-effective route. I highly recommend Black Forest Industries in Cary for any and all of your needs for an Audi, Volkswagen or Porsche. They are fully competent and trust-worthy.

I found Black Forest on the car guys' website and was thrilled after my first visit. Paul has spent at least 30 minutes with my car, running codes, explaining things to me. He has charged me only $18 -- for a part he installed himself. No labor. Now he's sending me to a different shop to get a catalytic converter because that shop can do it more cheaply (after market) than he can. He seems committed to solving my problem in the long term, helping me understand it, and doing so at minimum cost. With a Jetta at 120k, this is the perfect time to have found a great VW specialist. I actually look forward to going back!

Really high pressure by the up-front guy to repair my car. High price for diagnostics. Half the cost of repair $600 was diagnostic cost (or $300). Bad economy but this is ridiculous.

I cannot recommend any person bring their vehicle to Black Forest Industries for servicing due to their failure to stand by their work. I brought our Audi to Black Forest for all our service needs. When our coolant reservoir was low, Black Forest said a rock had blown a hole in the radiator and subsequently replaced it. Shortly after this repair, we moved out of state. A few months later, we noticed the coolant reservoir was low again. A local shop in our new location diagnosed the problem as a leaking radiator. We contacted Black Forest about the issue, as the work was still under their warranty period, and they immediately challenged that the radiator was leaking and speculated the leak was coming from somewhere else. We had the old radiator removed and it was found that the radiator was installed too close to the electric fan and the fan’s housing brackets had rubbed a hole in the radiator. We sent pictures of the damage and even offered to ship the damaged radiator to black forest industries. Black forest industries refused to believe our shop's explanation and required the car be at their shop to honor any warranty work. We asked them to cover just the cost of the radiator (not labor) and they hung up on us. So much for customer loyalty...

This shop is disorganized. I had a 1:00pm appointment for an oil change. I arrived on time and the black forest staff indicated they had moved to a new scheduling software and had some double-booked appointments. I asked if it would be a long wait and they said no more than an hour. I didn’t get my oil change completed until 5:30pm.
