Robert May has been our mechanic since we "discovered" him
in around 1990. He is honest and reliable, does as good or
better repair and service work than ANY that I have known,
and prices his work well below retail. I am not good at
sending Christmas cards, but Robert is on my Christmas list!
He is THAT appreciated by our family. He is located on the
right near where Rural Retreat Road dead ends just before
I-85/40 (off the new University Drive, near the new Target
shopping center).
Robert is awesome at diagnosing, and using exceptional
judgment to inform and advise. He takes the time to help us
decide on the cost/benefit of all types of situations:
replacement part quality, replace vs repair parts, proactive
replace/repair, strategic order of replace/repair difficult
(or impossible) to diagnose problems (we have had some that
baffled multiple dealerships, that Robert got us through
hundreds less with fewer replaced parts that the others were
going to do "wholesale" to see if they could fix the
problem). I could go on, as you suspect. Just try Robert,
and if his common-sense style works for you nearly as well
as us, you will never go anywhere else (Did I mention that
Robert also does restoration work, and has built and raced
his own drag cars in the past? He is a big
Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth muscle car expert).
