While we were traveling (for our wedding), we used this shop when our engine blew and they had our vehicle for 15 days to replace the engine. They replaced the clutch without permission, told and charged us about it after it was in. The sold us a used engine, which was stored improperly, even after we asked if it was sealed properly, they claimed it was... Turns out mice were storing corn in it. When installed the corn went into our heater and caused the vehicle to over heat. They "couldn't figure this out" and had to out source the work to a Subaru specialist. After all this, we were finally able to travel home, when we noticed a sound. We called the specialist, he told us what he thought it was (throwout bearing) and we had a local shop take a look. The throw-out bearing was going out. The shop that installed the clutch told us it was our responsibility to work out the warranty with the manufacture, they were not paying for labor,(because they knew we lived out of town). We called the manufacture and the distributor and were told that 'since we didn't buy the part, the shop did, they couldn't honor the warranty unless the shop filed.' The shop avoids our phone calls, the owner says he is waiting for the distributor to call him back. We have already contacted the distributor and spoke with the manager, the shop has not contacted them and actually there is no record out of them even purchasing the clutch, not to mention any evidence that they filed or replaced the fly-wheel when replacing the clutch, which would void the warranty anyway. Bad service.
