I have taken my Nissan Sentra to Chuck's on several
occasions and each time I have come away feeling extremely
lucky to have found his shop. If you live in the Starkville
area and have not yet found a reliable mechanic, I recommend
that you give Chuck Lewis a try.
About five years ago, I was having trouble with the Sentra
stalling on me whenever I'd pull my foot off the gas. The
local Nissan dealer quoted me a repair estimate of few
hundred dollars. So, I put off the repair for more than a
year when friend finally recommended I let Chuck take a look
at it. I left the car with him and when I returned a few
hours later, he had already fixed the problem (a vacuum
leak). He said he would have called me and given me a quote
for the repair, but since he had the part and it was less
than $25, he didn't think it was worth the trouble. I have
been going back to him ever since. On a couple of
occasions, he was able to diagnose and correct the problem
so quickly, that he did not even charge me for looking at it.
So far, I have had no negative experiences with his shop;
although there have been a couple of times that I couldn't
get in right away because he was already swamped with other
jobs. Overall, I'm very impressed with the quality of his
work and the reasonable rates that he charges for his services.

Very fair. Very honest. Explained the problems and did not try to trick me into unnecessary "repairs." First problem was a crankshaft sensor--other mechanics quoted PCM (lots of dough). He knew right away the problem. Total cost was very, very fair. Second problem was a caliper and brake lines; again very fair and quick. Word around town, too, is that they don't charge for air in your tires. Haven't confirmed that one yet, but it makes total sense with their customer service. There many shops like this one, especially in Mississippi.
Sincerely,
Matt
