On at least 3 occasions during the 5 years or so that I've taken my car to Bill's, they've fixed the problem (which they deemed to be minor) at no charge. Bill's explanation when I ask what they did to fix the problem is usually "Oh, we gave it a good thumping." or "We gave it a good talking to." Just a couple of weeks ago, I was concerned about finding spots of oil on the garage floor and having to add oil every few weeks (never had this problem before -- although, with a 10-1/2 year old car, I shouldn't be surprised). When I picked up the car, Bill said, "Well, now, your seals & rings probably need to be replaced, but I gotta take the whole damn front end apart to do that and it could be a thousand-dollar job. Now if it was my car, I'd put some kitty litter on those spots on the garage floor and just check the oil every time I got gas. The cat litter and a quart of oil once in a while aren't gonna cost you anything like a thousand bucks. And by the time the problem gets bad enough that you really do need to do the job, well, you might not even have the car anymore or you could've found a rich boyfriend or won the lottery. Anyway, don't spend money you don't have to spend until you really have to spend it, is my advice." Now, how many mechanics talk you OUT of spending money on their services???? Bill and his brother rEd are really good ol boys. And they REALLY know cars. P.S. their little bro. is Ken Schrader, the NASCAR driver who just placed fourth at Daytona.

They know what they can fix, what is worth fixing, and when they fix it, they charge a fair price. If they don't feel they can fix it to our satisfaction, they say so.

I live a couple of miles away and I asked for a ride from and to the shop. No problem. Other shops say no we can't do that. Work was done professionally and in a timely manner. Only work that needed to be done was done. I will definitely be going back.

I've been going to Bill's for 20 years. Bill, and now his son Ed, are always honest and respectful. For a single woman, I am so very luck to have them listed in my little pink book!

I was recommended to Bill's Automotive about 7 years ago. I can't tell you how many times I have called owner Ed (Schrader) on the phone and asked about a noise or other symptom for my car and he has been able to handle emergencies immediately and get me in for non-emergencies very quickly. Ed and his staff are friendly and HONEST!!!! He has turned down payment from me when he feels that he really did not need to do much to get my car in top shape again (like when a leaf was stuck in a wheel and making a horrible noise). I have always felt that my life (through the well-being of my car) is in excellent hands at Bill's Automotive. I completely recommend them!
