I have been taking my Subaru Outback to Ewers for several years now for state safety inspections, scheduled maintenance and minor repairs. Nine months ago they replaced my water pump. Last week, while I was in the middle of nowhere (40 miles out of town), the water pump seal failed and the engine severely overheated. I was towed back to Ewers, where they immediately began investigating the problem while the store manager gave me a ride back home. I expected the worst. If my engine was not damaged beyond repair, I expected that the charges for parts and labor to replace the water pump and repair damaged parts would be exorbitant. Ewers first looked up my repair history, and noted that the water pump was under warranty. They found that the pump seal had failed and caused additional damage to the head gasket and cylinder(s). They proceeded with all repairs, ordering brand new components from Subaru as needed. All the while, they kept me informed of their findings, the repair plan, and how long it would all take. When I came to pick up my car, they gave me the itemized repair bill. Total charge to me: $0 !!! They road tested the repairs, and in the week I've had my car back it appears to be running better than ever. I was impressed with Ewers' integrity and honesty, and their communication of the issues. They did what it took to do the job right, and I will be a loyal customer because of it.

Not necessarily THE cheapest short-term in town, but they'll do the work, do it right, and it'll save you in the long run. GREAT GREAT crew!!!
