I continue to be amazed by the way they always seem to fix the problem the first time. I'd probably pay extra for that, but they also seem to charge less than anyone else around here. It's a very low overhead operation. Undoubtably, that's one way they keep the costs low. They are in an old pole barn in downtown St. Michael (such as it is). Try to look past the humble facilities. You will not be offerred a decafe mocha double late' at this place. There's no place to sit and drink it, even if they offered you one. I think the fact that you talk directly to the mechanics, instead of a service writer, really helps them to fix the problem the first time. It is commonly suspected that mechanics are rip-off artists. In another life, I worked in the car repair industry, for a national chain of tire and repair stores, beginning with an "F". I can tell you that dishonesty is no more prevalent than in the general population. However, competence is far from universal. If you knew how many mechanics are what we used to call "Hammer Mechanics", you would shudder. If I could sum it up, the Berning Brothers understand cars, and they know how to fix them. John
