I was told by the Nissan dealer here that I needed to have the control arms on my Sentra fixed for $500. I took my car to Mike at Glasgow Motors for another reason, and asked him to give me an estimate for the control arms. He looked and said that they didn't need to be replaced, that it was just throwing money away. He also cleaned my fuel injector for free.

Mike doesn't even need to advertise - his name is passed from Volvo owner to Volvo owner like a talisman. Not only does he do terrific work himself, but when he sent me elsewhere for tires he told me which guy in the tire shop doesn't talk down to women.

I've been very impressed with this shop. I took a Mazda 626 to them with a check engine light on and a weak battery. They knew characteristics of this car from memory. In this case, they told me that a loose fuel cap can cause the light to come on. My car has about 90,000 miles on it, so I told them that I thought the alternator may be going out. After having the car for a couple of hours, they called me at work and told me I had a bad battery and that nothing else was wrong. They explained that there were no warnings in the "check engine" electronic system. They could have easily told me I needed a new alternator but did not. To give further kudos, I have to say they were business like and respectful.

I found this shop on cartalk.com. THEY ARE FANTASTIC. I
HIGHLY recommend any Volvo owner to take their car there.
This father and son team along with a very compentent staff
are right on. Pricing is far less than the dealership and
they are fully equiped to take on any task including
computer software updates. I am a satistified customer and
no longer will goto the Volvo dealers in town. What a
breath of fresh air!

They explain everything and show you what's wrong. They
give you good reccomendations, though sometimes those
prove to be expensive. They want to keep your car in
perfect shape, sometimes it's good to question them what
HAS to be done. I've found them timely and good to work
with albeit perhaps a little expensive.

Mike was referred to me by a very particular, long time Volvo owner who has gone to him for years. I haven't been disappointed. He is thorough, prompt, courteous. If the prices strike me as high, its the machine I drive and the price we have to pay for the parts

My parents have been going to this guy for almost 15 yrs,
and anytime one of the cars needs to go "in", "in" is
always Glasgow's. I've only dealt with Mike personally a
few times, and he was great. Always prompt. I would
highly recommend him.
