when you ask them repair something you get what you need. I'm an idiot when it comes to auto mechanics, the best example I can think of is, I had a 1977 olds cutlass, it was losing coolant. I thought it was the water pump, I brought it in to have it repaired and asked for a price on a rebuilt water pump. $145.00 I told them to go ahead and as I had another car I could use there was no rush, two days later they called and told me I could pick up the car, cost $40.00. they told me in that year oldmobile they used the same block for both diesel and gasoline motors all they had to do was replace a rubber plug that was leaking in one of the ports

My 1981 BMW 633 CSi started stopping, well, that sounds strange but it developed a burp or hiccup while we were cruising along that led to the car just turning itself off. It was intermittant and the guys at Northfield Auto kept the car overnight, then for a weekend and finally for 2 1/2 months and kept driving it until it died on them and then they narrowed down the possibly causes (keeping me informed all the time) until they had three, they did a repair on the first possibility and that fixed it! When I picked it up they said they were glad I could let them have the car until they figured out the problem because they didn't want to just throw parts at it and hope they'd found the answer without really knowing the problem. They were great and I remembered your advice and brought them cookies to thank them. As I left the station that day the mechanic had opened the tin and was eating one as he walked back into the repair bay where he was yelling at the other guys to come and have a cookie. It was great!

This is a great place to do business. They know what they are doing and go out of there way to satisfy the customer. John and Bob could very well be the other two long lost Tappet brothers, Klank and Klunk.
