My father taught power mechanics for a number of years and then retired to start an engine rebuilder's shop. I grew up with the unfortunate combination of knowing too much about working on cars and having little tolerance for gear oil dripping into my hair. I have never liked working on cars and as soon as I was able to get grown-up job, I started hiring mechanics. I searched for years before I fianlly found Ed. He has the perfect combination of great deductive reasoning and dogged determination to sort through the most obscure problems - on one of my new used-cars he was able to find the source of a mysterious vibration, an out of balance flywheel. And he is a really nice guy besides. Ed has been working on my rusty used cars and a series of used service trucks for over15 years now. He is as good as it gets.

Head mechanic, Ed Lais, is great! If he says something needs to be done, or it can wait, or "we might as well fix this too since we've got it opened up", I tell him to go ahead. He gets things done when he promises (or sooner). I'm a backyard mechanic and Ed always discusses the problem WITH me instead of just telling me what he's going to do.
