As a proud female SAAB owner I often talk with other SAAB owners. FFF was recommended to me as an excellent SAAB specialist. I called them and told the shop owner,Bernie, I wanted a shop that worked exclusively on SAABs. He replyed that he had specialized in SAABs since 1976 and they accounted for 80% of his current work. However he did work on other brands when time permitted. I begrudgingly agreed to give him a try with my baby because of the referral and his phone presence. A week later I phoned again and asked if he would look at my daughters Taurus as I was comfortable with him and didn,t know anyone else I trusted. He chuckled briefly and said this is why I don,t claim to work on SAABs only. He also mentioned that more than half his customers are female. Most of his work comes from referrals or repeats - and women, he feels, are more social and seem to send every one they know. Mostly other women.

Bernie was recommended to me by a co-worker. I visited his shop which was a very nice couple of bays of his own home garage. I could see he was much more than a shadetree mechanic. I thought I'd give him a try. The work he did was good quality. Being a mechanic in a past life I would consider myself very critical of the quality. He did an excellent job on everything. I was only disappointed in the cost. His prices are in line with a dealer at least when he quoted work on my and my Honda, and Nissan. However, he will do work that a dealer won't do such as installing a used junkyard trans which I supplied. Maybe he's favoring Saabs and therefore is quoting high on all others. A good honest guy, but not cheap.

With no notice Bernie did a inspection on a Volvo that we were thinking to buy even though he had just got home from the airport. Wonderful service and a great sense of humor. Saved us the cost of a transmission.
