Now that we've moved out of the state we realize how much we miss Murphy's. Larry has worked on three makes for us, Honda, Dodge, and Isuzu, over three years. He also helped with advice when we were buying another car and when we brought a potential vehicle to him he test drove it for us. Work is ALWAYS done when they say it will be. Shop seems very clean relative to what I've seen.

Murphy's Service (Larry Helstrom's) way of doing business
should be the blueprint for ALL business owners. He takes
the time to explain what needs to be done, answers
questions in a straightforward understandable way (for us
mechanically-challenged people!), and he and the guys are
pleasant folks to deal with.
I've had several vehicles of different makes and models
over the years, and he's always done the work when he says
it will be done, and has actually talked me out of having
unnecessary stuff done (less $$$ for him!). His rates are
reasonable and you know it will be done right THE FIRST
TIME. He's always gone the extra mile, looking over
potential purchases for my kids, and offering advice on
what to buy, etc.
I recommend Murphy's Service to anyone looking for an
honest, dependable shop!

My Son's car needed service in Duluth and I useally do all
of our car work, but live over 150 miles away. So when my
Son call about a car problem, I looked Murphy's through this
great service. Well Murphy's repaired the car good enough
to get my Son home and I finished the work myself saving
about $150+; while I only paid Murphy's $60.00 for his work.
I talked to Murphy's myself, by phone, and he assured me
that the car should make the trip. I will recommend his
service to everyone I know that sends their son or daughter
to Duluth for school. It's great to find someone who puts
your interest and money first. Thanks for everything,
Murphy's Service.

Larry has worked on my family's cars for the past 20+ years
and I absolutely trust him, although he's less willing to
see me drive junkers than I'd like him to be sometime! Our
2 children are now grown but Larry saw us through a lot of
cars--advising us which ones were worth buying, which ones
to stay away from--and if we didn't listen, he'd patiently
work on whatever we bought and make it the best he could!
Over time the kids grew up and the cars we drive have
improved, so we don't offer as much entertainment and
challenge as we used to, but when we need something all I
need to do is hand over the keys, give a general description
of the problem, and know he'll do the right thing at the
best price he can. Larry's dad spends his time on the
crossword puzzles in the office rather than in the shop now,
but in his 80's, he's still a fixture at Murphy's.
