I have fone there several times for exhaust and once for transmission work. They have never tried to sell me something I didn't feel that I needed.

My '89 Camry has seen better days. I was loath to spend
any money on it, but the exhaust system could be heard all
the way to Pakistan. Hermantown Transmission and Exhaust
did the job in the most cost effective way. They also
explained what else the car might need - and didn't need.
I would go back there in a heartbeat.

They "squeezed" me in their busy daily schedule. Gave me
the two options for exhaust repair (I already had the
information from the referral shop). Did the repairs
quickly and correctly the first time. I would highly
recommend them for service. Also, I once took a vehicle
there for an evaluation of the exhaust. They honestly told
me that it was not the issue and did not charge me for the
evaluation. Great local business! I will go there again.

Great guys who will explain to you what's wrong, give you the options and tell you the priority of tr repair. They'll never sell you anything that you won't need. They also refer a lot of business to other shops that specialize in the repair. I think that's a good trait-for repair shops to focus on only a few areas of auto repair rather than dabbling in all of them.
