I have been using Dan's Auto Repair for more than 20 years. The employees treat everyone with respect and go out of their way to make sure a repair is done correctly. If a repair maybe under warranty, they will verify that it is and inform the customer before doing any work. They admit their mistakes, which don't happen very often (only once in >>100 visits), and promptly correct the issue – no charge. This one incident occurred when they replace a transmission, with over 160,000 miles & no reverse, which had the wrong speedometer /odometer gear ratio for the vehicle. This resulted in the car actually going faster than what was indicated by the speedometer. For various reasons, (I thought the calibration was off) I didn't inform the shop of the issue a year later. Even though I had the transmission for a one year, they still replaced the transmission for one with the proper speedometer/odometer gear ratio. This shop is honest and reasonable in their pricing.

I was from out of town and had my car break down in Novi, MI. I had my car towed to a nearby auto repair, Dan's Auto Repair. The next morning I called when they opened and informed them I had a car sitting outside that wouldn't run. By 2:00 that afternoon, they had diagnosed the problem, and by 3:00 it was fixed. The total bill was about $150. Considering they knew I wasn't from the area, it would have been easy to attempt to take advantage of the situation, but they were extremely honest. They just replaced the part, and locked the keys in the car for me to pick up later. Their labor charge was cheaper than where I am from (~$80/hr), so overall I was extremely impressed with their service and honesty. Highly recommended.
