These are good and honest mechanics. The owner and one employee run the whole show. When you go to the garage, it looks run down and beat up, but don't let that fool you. There is often a two week waiting list to get your car looked at. They don't have any fancy equipement (e.g., no computers), but they will tell you when they don't know what is going on or they think you need to go to someplace with more expertise on that car. When I moved to the area, I asked a bunch of people for where I should go to get my car looked at, and many people told me to go to Goedert's. It is rare to find a mechanic that will open the hood and show you exactly what he did and explain why he did it (and in the process give you a little lesson on how your car works). The prices are very reasonable. I think they do better with older cars because they don't have very much computer diagnostic equipement.

Larry and Clyde have always been terrific. I trust them
implicitly. I've always been highly satisfied with their
services, as have the many friends who have gone to
Goedert's based on my recommendation. Larry has retired
now, but is replaced by a young man named Josh, who gives
every indication of being a worthy successor to Larry.
Certainly Josh could not have a better mentor than
Clyde.
