This shop really helped me out in a jam. The ingition switch on my SAAB (which is on the floor between the front seats)was bad - it turned out I had spilled one too many beverages and it had corroded. I was visiting my friend in Detroit (a big Ford family) and couldn't drive back to Iowa. Where in Detroit can you find someone to fix a SAAB?! Luckily I found Lincoln Park Foreign Car Service in the phone book. They were busy, but understanding of my predicament ... they fit me into their schedule and fixed my car for just $139. They were honest and polite and I thank my lucky stars for Mel!

I have had a LOT OF WORK done by them in the past 3 years. Sometimes they are VERY good about correctly diagnosing the problem and fixing it right away. However at times their repair work is not that great and I have to go back and get them to get it right. They are very friendly, and VERY nice about letting me shop around to get parts cheaper and they then install them. VERY GOOD about this! I think their overall knowledge base about foreign cars is above average, and most of the time they will get it right! They have even done a few repairs for free or not much of a charge. They do seem to want to work with you and are cooperative. NEVER unfriendly or hostile. My main complaint at times has been that they do not get the job completed correctly and I have to bring it back to finally get it right. However they do accept responsibility for their mistakes and do make it right. They also schedule me in to get work done on a timely basis. At times they appear to replace more parts than indicated, but this is not a major problem. Overall grade: B+.
