It's hard to tell if they just have a lot of very old tools, or if they collect and display antiques. Not kidding - I really think it's some of both. Lots of stuff that must date back to the Depression - like the owner. Not a high-tech bunch, but a good meat-and-potatoes kind of shop.

Taking your car to the Badgleys is like taking it to a member of your own family. They have taken care of my cars, collector cars and daily drivers alike, for 30 years. There's probably a garage this good somewhere else, but I'll bet there aren't many.

They are a classic old independent repair shop. There is all sorts of junk around. However, they are the best domestic repair shop in town. My favorite story was when my Ford Taurus wouldn't start. I had it towed to them. An old guy came out, heard the problem, said that Tauri were noted for loose ground cables, reached in, tightened the cable, and didn't charge anything.

The Badgleys are the coolest, most knowledgeable, and honest auto-repair people I have ever encountered. The mother, father, and their two grown sons are very car-savvy. They will not sell anyone anything one doesn't need. They once saved me several hundred dollars after another garage told me I needed to replace the clutch in one of my Oldmobiles. They quickly discovered that it only needed adjustment. Their garage has been there forever, with memorabilia to prove it. If your timing is good, you might see some classic American autos belonging to their customers as well as to themselves. If you're really lucky, you can see some of their great travel photos or even get a cookie.

This has been my repair shop for at least 30 years. The first time I took my car there I had an automatic choke problem on my 1969 Cutlass. Doug and his father spent about 30 minutes adjusting the carburator and choke. They fixed the problem, charged me $5 and sent me on my way. i have been a loyal customer ever since. They are good. They are honest. What else do you want?

I have been taking my car's to the Badgley family for about 10 years and have never had a complaint. My stories are similar to the others on this page. The have done numerous repairs for me without charge (including a mower deck I happened to have in my truck once), never seem to push unnecessary repairs, and stand behind what they do. I will be asking Mrs. Badgley about the cookies someone else mentioned here...

After casting about around Lansing getting my cars fixed by idiots, several friends recommended the Badgley clan. Over the thirty plus years I have taken my cars there, they have had the highest standards of integrity, and I have trusted my family's safety to them with always good effect. These folks are doing total mechanical restorations for customers around the world during the slow times, Judy has been President of the National Hurst Olds Club, now son Calvin is, or was recently if not now. Frankly, they are all geniuses about cars, with diagnostic abilities that are amazing. Judy runs the front of the house, keeps Doug mostly out of trouble, and Trevor and Calvin keep old American cars running safely forever. Truly, these are wonderful folks, with the highest integrity, and the most amazing car knowledge!

I have been taking my cars to Badgley's for the past 10 years. This is an old-style family run shop. The first thing a new customer might notice upon entering the facility is a faint odor of gasoline and oil. But the Badgley's are capable mechanics who specialize in repairing domestic vehicles (especially Oldsmobiles). If my car were in need of a major repair, the first shop that I would consider going to would be Badgley's.

Fixed car right the first time, while I waited. Went over the options $$$ as to how to do the fix.
