Mark is one of the most honest mechanics I've ever encountered. In fact, he is so honest that he often would scrimp and save on parts ( by cleaning spark plugs instead of replacing them) in order to save me money. His final charges never exceed his estimate and on one occasion where he could not diagnose and repair a problem with my power window, he did not charge me a penny even after he had spent several hours with the problem. I live three hours away from his shop now but am tempted to drive that distance for my repairs.

I am a female college student with very little knowledge of cars. My exhaust system needed to be replaced, so I went to Mark to get an estimate. After checking around for a few days, I called Kalamazoo Imports back to have them do the work. I did not have an appointment, but the woman on the phone said she could squeeze me in anyway. She ordered the parts right away, and said the repair could be done the next day. The car was ready the next day, the cost was close to the given estimate, and Mark took the time to explain what he had done. He also said he reused parts from the old exhaust system which were still good, saving me about $60. Additionally, Mark said he had noticed some loose bolts in the front part of the exhaust system (which he didn't even work on), so he tightened them for me. Thank you for the excellent service!

I have been using Kalamazoo Imports for all my automotive repairs for many years. I highly recommend them. Mark is one of the most knowledgeable mechanics I have ever met. If there is a criticism of this shop, it is that they are sometimes too conservative in repairs. But this and the fact that they will shop around for inexpensive parts and do many free diagnoses as well as simple adjustments for free, more than make up for erring on the side of the customer. Now THAT is a real change from any other shop I ever dealt with.

Very honest and trustworthy. I like that he will not do the work until he's talked to me and gone over the approx. costs of the repairs. His shop is called "Kalamazoo Imports", but he can fix anything, and has saved our 1993 Ford F150 on more than one occasion!

After seeing this shop on the Car Talk web site, I took my 96 Mazda MX-6 in with a "Check Engine" light on. While I was there I asked them to check out general rattles and a clunk in the left front. The mechanic came out in 10 minutes. Told me he found a loose vacuum hose, reset the light. No charge. Thought it would hold. It has. Then the clunk and rattle diagnoses. Sway bar links at all corners. Tried to get them after market without luck. But gave me what I consider a great price. Had the links there and the job done in 90 minutes. Very impressed. I will go back.

Mark's shop has worked on all my cars (Hondas and Toyotas) for the past 10 years and provided excellent service on them all. He is very forthright in is diagnosis and estaminets. I like that he tries to save money or tell you your options on expensive repairs. My parents also take their cars to him for service and told by grandmother to take her buick in for service after being ripped off at the local stealer (I mean dealer). Tim
