It's been a few years back, but the good experience is still fresh in my mind! I was having problems with a 1986 Nissan pick-up (Hardbody) with the Z-24, 4 cylinder. This engine has two sets of four spark plugs and two coils. Well, I was plaqued with a problem that made the engine miss and would suffer power loss as I shifted through the gears. The local Nissan dealership looked at it on more than one occasion only to sell me a $40 coil wire and to say they couldn't find any other problems. The new coil wire did nothing to solve the problem! So, my search continued until I called LaLierties. They checked the truck out and called me with their dianogsis. They said it needed to have one of the coils replaced and could have it ready for me shortly. The problem was solved and after driving around for so long with this problem it was like driving a new truck again! I was very pleased with the service and the results. The truck was going to my daughter for her first vehicle, so, to say the least, it was a great relief to feel she was now getting a sound vehicle to drive.

I have been dealing with Don & David LaLiberte for more than 25 years. They were the first who could decently maintain my 1981 Rabbit Diesel. Ever since, I have trusted all my car repairs with them. Most of my cars were at least 10 years old with much more than 100,000 miles. They have kept them running well and I have confidence in their judgment. I have even called them from afar to get their advice when I developed car problems while traveling. A number of my friends have begun taking their vehicles to LaLiberte's based on my experience with them. As another said, it is more important (and difficult) to find a good, trustworthy mechanic than a good doctor. They are good!

I didn't deal with the owners, but the employees are quite friendly. The service manager did a fair, but not excellent, job explaining the diaqnosis and work to be performed. These comments are based on the repair of two problems, with my vehicle, the summer of 2005. For one of the repairs, they didn't correctly diagnose the problem the first time, but did the second time (no biggy). The second job was diagnosed and repaired correctly the first time but has since reappeared. As far as price goes ----- they are definitely expensive.
