Gary only works on Volkswagans. This does NOT include Audi. Inside, he has a shrine to the VW Bug. You may read about the entire history of this car. As a VW repair genius he is top notch. As a businessman he is generous. At no charge, he provides a (rather run down) VW to use while he has yours. He has often fixed a bulb or other small matter at part cost only. If you are lucky enough to have a VW in Holland, Gary will take care of your car and your wallet.

I have been taking my VW's to Gary for 10+ years and he always does an exceptional job. It is so hassle free that I even drive from Grand Rapids to Holland (40 minute drive) just so he can change my oil and filter! On the rare occasion where I have some sort of emergency (muffler falling off etc) they have been more than accomodating to get me in the same day to fix it. Both Gary and Brandon take the time to explain what is needed and what isn't. It is a pleasure to do business here.

I have purchased 2 VW's from Gary, because I prefer his shop for service. We trust him to be honest and economical when compared with other garages/car dealers.

I drove my car back to Michigan from Georgia (where I live now) so that I could have Gary do the check-up. I really trust him. If there's something that might need to be replaced in a few thousand miles, Gary will tell you that, and not try to get you to replace it before that just to make a buck. He'll even suggest things that could be done instead.

If you look up the word "honest" in the dictionary, Gary's picture is there. Both of my kids own VW's and live in Chicago but will schedule all work on their cars for when they come back to West MI. I have owned several VW's and Gary has worked on all of them. His prices are so reasonable, I sometime feel like I'm taking advantage of him when I pay my bill.

Gary is in to saving you money. He once told us to "live with it" when the guide to our standard transmission was broken which made finding first gear a little difficult. He correctly pointed out that all we needed to do was put the car into 2nd gear and then straight up into 1st. "The cost of repairing this on a 15 year old Jetta wasn't worth it", he said.

I've been taking my VWs -- actually only 3 different ones in all those years, 'cause he give such good care -- to Gary since my kids were in car seats, and now that they're teens needing cars, they're the first place I'll tell them to go. He sells a few on the side -- only VWs of course -- and you know they'll be good. His knowledge of VWs and what can go wrong (and he'll tell you what you can live with) borders on the mystical. He once correctly diagnosed a problem from 30 miles away over the cell phone -- and then told me it would be fine to not fix it if I wanted to save the money.
