Joe has always treated us great and does a great job on our Mustangs. We always refer him to our friends and co- workers.

Stammel's does good work. They fix what is broken and nothing more. They are a repair shop, not a sales shop. I have been to Joe's at least 4 times. Each time Joes clearly explains what the problems is, gives a reliable estimate and the work is done well. He also stands behind his repairs. If, like Diogenes, you seek an honest man, you will find one at Stammels'.

I was new to the area in 2000. A colleague told me a story about his daughter some years before. She had ignored the early warning signs of brakes going bad. She was close to Dynamic -Joe Stammell's place - Dynamic and barely managed to stop at the shop before she hit something. Joe told her the brakes were totally gone. When he told her the price, she said I can't pay for the work. She was just out of school and not making much money. Joe looked at her and said he couldn't let her drive the car the way it was in good conscious. He fixed the brakes and told her to pay him whenever she could. She later told the story to her father, my colleague, who was so astonished and grateful that such people still lived in the world that he went down to meet Joe and paid him for the job. So I took my car to Joe and have never looked back. He calls my cars "interesting" which is his word for difficult foreign jobs. My son, who started driving around that first visit, and I have tortured Joe with the following - Eagle Premier '94, Turbo Saab '88, Lexus 300 '98, Pontiac Silhouette '96, Grand Am '98, Lexus '01. He has helped us with everything from the purchase of used vehicles as my son destroyed them to reconstructing maintenance history to validate my warranty to enable recall work. By the way don't expect to get "terms" on payment - he has only done that one time to my knowledge and he is an excellent judge of character. He has the "look" and can always tell when you are trying to put one over on him.

They really know engines and cooling systems. Fantastic knowledge of braking systems. They understand all the computerized stuff, the luxury options on a car like this. Better than a dealership and WAY less expensive! They will be honest and tell you when it's not worth repairing something, yet will insist that safety is a non-negotiable issue, they will not let you out in an unsafe-to-operate vehicle. I am amazed at the capabilities of their mechanics! When I got the car I looked under the hood and could not find the battery! Everyone at home thought I was nuts, when I took the car into Dynamic they immediately explained, and showed me how to access it UNDER THE REAR SEAT!!! There is also a fuse box in there so now I know how to get to it, should I need to do so. I won't take my car anywhere else for repairs and/or routine maintenance!
