The best thing about these gentlemen: They don't fix anything that doesn't need it. And, the prices are reasonable.

I used to work with St. Vincent de Paul in their car giveaway program. Rick and Larry helped me to give away 45 cars in one year! They were always concerned with safety and keeping the costs low. St. Vinnie's will always have a soft spot for these guys.

If you drive "American beaters", these guys are for you. I knew I had good
mechanics when they refused to fix my '78 Monte Carlo due to safety
concerns (in 1999). After being ripped off by mechanics with drug problems,
attitude problems, and competence problems, I can't say enough good about
these guys. Suffice it to say, I trust them with my vehicle like I would trust
my own father (and he was trustworthy!). When they retire, I will buy a
Toyota.

I broke a ball-joint on the way to work this morning so I
searched on this site for a reputable repair shop nearby.
Campus Auto had five positive responses so I called them
up. These guys were great! They did the following things:
1. called a very inexpensive tow truck immediately for me
and wrote the driver a check because I didn't have cash on
me.
2. explained exactly what was wrong and gave me a quick
oral estimate that was very close to the final price.
3. completed the work in record time! (3 hours, including
driving to a neighboring city for parts)
4. came and picked me up when the car was ready
5. charged a VERY reasonable price
I highly recommend Campus Auto Repair. Larry and Rick are
great guys and they have a customer for life!

I pulled these guys off the CarTalk website and I was
incredibly pleased. My wife broke down in downtown Detroit
at a conference. They repaired the vehicle AND OFFERED TO
PICK HER UP FROM THE CONFERENCE. Now that's service! Great
job, guys!

I am at a conference nearby and was horrified to realize I had a fast leak
in my tire...not fun as a tourist in Detroit. But these guys were really nice &
my total bill was only $15.
