Had them diagnose my engine ($50 service) in order to rule out engine trouble as the cause of a no-upshift (2/3) condition. They did a very complete check, recommended me a few transmission shops, and turned down payment for the diagnosis. I plan to return there for regular maintenance.

Just that I was pleased with the overall repair experience. Enough so that I wanted put out a good word for them.

This shop has been a lifesaver on more than one occasion. I found them when I first moved to the area, and I liked their competent and friendly service, clear explanations for what was necessary, and reasonable prices. My husband was skeptical...his father was a mechanic...and I couldn't believe that the first time I talked him into having a service done there, the oil plug let go in the parking lot of his work in downtown Detroit later that day. My irate husband let me knmow he was "a bit disappointed" w/ my recommendation, and I let Pat, the owner, know what had happened. He took what he needed to make it right, drove miles to downtown in the middle of the day, and did so. I was impressed!! The plug had probably been damaged in a quickie lube joint earlier in the truck's life, but Pat took it upon himself to make it right. In my book, that's what excuses. Pat is in the process of selling this shop, and I had occasion to meet Joel, the new owner, last week. I have some serious engine problems (my own doing), and he and his staff are continuing to provide me the kind of service I have come to expect from this Precision Tune location. Keep up the good work, Joel, James, Dave, et al.
