This is a well-run shop staffed by pros, who are competent, honest, friendly, and straightforward. I do most of the work on my high-mileage cars. There's not much that I can't do myself, but over the years I have gone to these guys if I didn't have a tool for the job, if it was too much of a pain to do without a lift, I didn't have time, was out of town, etc. I first used them because they were the nearest shop when I needed to be towed (twice, both related to incidents when I had some other shop work on my cars!). I've taken my cars in for stuff that required some discussion or judgment, and have been >very< impressed with their communication, knowledge, and willingness to be flexible and 'go the extra mile' on a problem (e.g. deal with warranty hassles on a rebuilt alternator that >they didn't even install<!). They have had opportunities to try to convince me to do more work than really necessary, but recommended exactly what was needed - and only what was needed - and charged accordingly (i.e. a reasonable hourly shop rate, not some inflated 'you're stuck so I gotcha!' price). Part of the reason I do my own work is because it's hard to find someone that you can rely on to do the right thing - I don't worry about that at all at this shop. From my experiences with them (and talking to others), I really trust these guys. This is the only shop that I recommend to others, and everyone I have referred to them over the years has been more than pleased. My wife had to deal with them while I was out of town, and was treated with courtesy and respect. My early-20's son goes to them now that I'm working in another city most of the time, and he likes them because they don't treat him dismissively because of his age.

Pete and his crew are very kind and honest. I trust them fully with my vehicle and will always recommend them to friends in need of an honest mechanic. I had good luck with other shops in the Madison area before finding them but Bennett's will always get my business as long as I'm in the area.

They are great. Convenient and very helpful. Great service! It close to our home and we don't drive pickup regularly, so we'll make appt with them and take pickup over there in the evening, drop keys in key drop and I'll come over and pay for it when service is done next day and then park it on the street and pick it up after my husband comes home from work. There waiting room is not great, but they'll drive you in your car to anywhere in Middleton. 2017 labor rate = $92/hr I have 2004 pickup and had crappy 2007 minivan. Worst problem I had was alternator dying on minivan. I figured out what it was and called them and tried to make it there from a couple miles away. It died at intersection, so I called them. Carl came with a battery jumper and drove my car the final 1/2 mile to their shop with hood up and another guy drove me their in their vehicle. Saved me a tow! Thanks guys. Larry is who I usually get on the phone and he's great, helpful, respectful, and unflappable. Only issue I had was getting an alignment done. They needed to take it somewhere because they don't have the equipment. They got it done but it took a day or two. I'm a 50 yo female unemployed engineer who looks like a dumpy housewife and they treat me with a lot of respect.
