I used this shop once for some unknown electrical problems (repair cost was less than expected - very reasonable). They did a great job of contacting me to explain the nature of the problem and estimated cost of repair. They could easily have tacked on a new altenator installation and no telling what else. The repair cost was under $100. I can't remember the last time I had any work done on a car for that little. I also used this shop for a major service and took advantage of their loaner cars.

Had the timing belt on my old '81 242DL strip out on the way
home from a trip to Canada. Left it in Seattle, then had it
towed to Precision Motorworks. They did very good work on
it... Apparently, they discovered a cracked timing gear on
the crankshaft, which I hadn't seen when I replaced the belt
myself a couple months beforehand. They did adjust the
timing a little too far advanced, but, that was because I
didn't tell them that the engine had been swapped with one
from Canada. Otherwise, I felt they did a good job. A
little spendy, but, that's ok. May use'em again, even
though they are a bit of a distance away from my place...

I purchased a '98 Volvo V70 with 115K from my boss in
2001. She had Precision Motorworks do all the previous
service on the car, and since they knew the car, I decided
to take the car to them as well, althought not for every
type of service. I have found them to be very thorough,
courtious, and and helpful. They always call and explain
any issues and costs with you before doing the work.
Although not as expensive as the local Volvo dealer, they
are not a discount shop by any means and I have begun
taking the car to another local shop for oil changes,
brakes, and minor service, but I still take the V70 to
Precision for major service and any engine work that
requires diagnostics and I certainly would not hesitate to
recommend them based on quality of work. Aside from
price, the only major gripe I have with them is their
strict closing time of 5:30. For those of us that work
until 5:00, it is often hard to get to them by 5:30 and
they have seemed pretty preturbed when I've shown up at
5:20 to pay and pick up the car, but the shop is not in a
particularly good part of town and I have not liked the
idea of leaving the car in their yard overnight.

I have been using these guys for at least the last 2 years to keep my V70 alive and kicking until we can afford buying a new car... They offer free loaners and let you drop off and pick up your car on Saturdays too if its done. Thanks Guys!
P.S Josh is great explaining things to me so I can understand the repair.
