Always tells me more than I probably want to know about my car (but should know anyway). It's a lot like talking to my Dad without the angst. Once told me to "run, don't walk" out of a used car dealership when I called him to set up an inspection.

Lee is excellent. He's biased towards american cars...won't work on volvos...but he's done excellent work on my 85 Toyota pickup. He's honest, straightforward, and an extremely competent mechanic. Sometimes he's pretty darn busy, and as a result talking to him on the phone can be difficult. He's a bit terse on the phone. Really nice in person.

Mr Clinton and his crew have fixed, in one hour or less, problems that escaped two Chrysler repair agencies for months. Mr. Clinton and his mechanics, are exactly that, mechanics. They rely on old-fashion knowledge and intuition, not a computer to identify a problem. Clinton Auto Repair has worked on my family's cars since 1973, and we have always had superb service.

My little truck is a beater, and I always find myself taking it to Clinton's for its servicing. I was due for a tune up once, worried about the clutch starting to give, and suddenly the engine started mis- firing. I took it over to him, he refused to work on my clutch ("it's fine, drive it 'till it really starts going. You've got a lot of life left"), and since I came in without an appointment, he just replaced one of my plugs and made sure the engine was running smooth on the spot. When I tried to offer him money, he shrugged it off and told me to get him when I came back for my tune up. So I came back for the tune-up only to find that not only had he not done a full tune-up ("it didn't need one. We only did what was necessary") he had fixed one other small problem he had found, and still got me out of there for about half the price of a full tune up. Finally, although you have to schedule in advance with him, I've never had to wait more than a week, only once had to wait ONE day to get my car back (it's usually ready by 3 or 4 o'clock if I drop it off in the morning). I should add that a few times I've recommended him to friends in emergencies, and I've never seen him turn away a car in trouble. Highest recommendation for an honest mechanic!
